I’m repeating myself because I strongly believe that our success at Yearbox Calendars is due in large part to the fact that unlike other printing companies, we don’t get sidetracked with stationery or brochures, and we can really focus on making your calendars look great.

We don’t have loads of little print jobs that crowd out your calendar and compete for our attention. We are therefore able to take the time and flexibility to customize your calendar as much as you need.

More importantly, however, is the fact that our focus on custom calendars makes us custom calendar experts. We can usually answer all of your questions (by phone or e-mail) because we’ve had those questions before. We know all the ins and outs of producing custom calendars. Moreover, we usually are able to answer questions that you haven’t even thought up yet. Nine times out of ten, we can make suggestions based on our experience that can improve your custom calendar project.

Feel free to test the limits of our calendar expertise by phoning or e-mailing us today!

Most of our customers have no trouble finding a calendar design among our styles galleries that they really like. But more often than not, there is a little something extra that they need. Maybe they need 300 custom events added to the date boxes. Or maybe they need the typefaces to match their corporate style. Or maybe they need a paragraph of text added next to each image. Maybe it’s advertising. Or maybe it’s all of the above. When they ask if we can perform these extra services, most customers are surprised by the two answers we give: “Sure, we can do that,” and, “No, there’s no extra charge.”

Are we crazy? We don’t think so. Our business objective is to produce the best-looking custom calendars on the market. We believe that the best way to do that is to make it easy for our customers to get the calendar that they want. That means customizing the calendar as much as necessary without a confusing array of add-on pricing.

We also have a secret weapon. We use a set of proprietary scripts to automate many of our calendar layout tasks. When a customer asks for something special, we usually put the time in up front to code new script that includes the customization. Its a little more work that way, but when next year’s calendar comes along, we are ready to go.

So, don’t be shy. Let us know what you need for your calendar. Most likely, we’ll say, “Sure, no extra charge.”

Touching-up and enhancing photos is not a new service for us — its what we’ve done at Yearbox since day 1. The first step when we get to work on your calendar is to open each image in Photoshop and make it look as good as it can. Usually, this means making slight adjustments in contrast or color balance. But sometimes it is more involved than that. We are happy to clean up scans of old, worn-out, faded, or cracked photos. We often enhance low-resolution images. Another frequent fix is to adjust images taken with poor lighting conditions. We’ve even gone so far as to remove an “ex” from a family photo (though we don’t recommend you make a regular habit of that!).

Whenever we get an image that is marginal or sub-standard, we always let our customer know that they might want to replace it. More often than not, however, the customer sticks with the original photo. Although we would love to always work with professional-quality, high-resolution images, we also understand that for many of our customers, a photo that is lower in quality but is “the right shot” is a better choice than a higher-quality alternative.

So why not charge extra for expert photoshop work? We sometimes get comments back from customers like: “I can’t believe what you did with that photo! It came out looking much better than I thought it would. You guys should really charge a premium for that service.” We don’t charge extra because we are not in the business of selling low-quality calendars. There are plenty of printers who will print whatever comes in the door without even looking twice at it. That’s not our game. If you are buying high-quality calendars, then making sure that the images look the best that they can should be included in the price.
